This kind of bass is my most popular instrument. I have made more than 50 of them, mostly 5-string but also some 6-string and a couple of 4-string. The neck is laminated of 9 pieces of woods (on a 6-string 11 pieces and on a 4-string 7 pieces), and I have experimented a lot with different kinds of wood, mostly oak and ash. The thing is to combine the woods from the tap tones. The lamination make the neck very strong and I need only one trussrod even on a 6-string.

The bridge is a Gotoh 510 that is one of the best bridges ever made. Also the tuners are Gotoh, GB7, simply because of the quality.

The pickups have been mostly the Germany made Basstec, but also some Kent Armstrong and EMG with different kinds of preamps and B/T controls.

This very bass was made between October and December 1999. The neck is laminated of 5 pieces Swedish oak and 4 pieces Swedish ash. The fretboard is made of wenge and the bodysides of Swedish cherry. There are gold hardware and EMG pickups in combination of an EMG B/T system.

The song in this bass is so wide, powerful and clear, from the deep low B to the crystal clear top at A, almost 4 octaves. The strong neck allows me to have extreme low action on this bass.

There is a problem with these basses. As soon as I start to make one, there is always someone that found out about it and come and pays for it. So I will never get one for myself! This one was sold 3 weeks before it was finished.
